Treatment and Therapy - Anti-Seizure Medications

 
Anti-Seizure / Anticonvulsant Medications

These drugs were developed to control and limit epileptic seizures, but also are used to treat intense feelings of shooting or stabbing pain caused by neuropathy. Anticonvulsant drugs, unlike antidepressant drugs, relieve pain by interacting directly with nerve tissue. They appear to ease pain symptoms by slowing or preventing uncontrolled pain caused by damaged nerves.
